Thanks to scientific technology and research advances, techniques have been developed to detect and prevent genetic diseases in embryos, prior to performing in vitro fertilization practices.
The technique used to achieve this, is through a genetical preimplantation diagnosis, which consists in the detection of the mutation that causes cystic fibrosis in embryos and which allows the transfering of only unaffected embryos to the uterus, allowing an infinite number of couples to develop a healthy pregnancy and preventing the baby from being affected by this disease. The study is carried out in a laboratory through reagents that detect this type of anomalies in the cells. These reagents are imported from Europe and require a special treatment for international transport, which is why we are tasked with the important responsibility of assuring that the packaging, temperature conditioning, maintainance and tracking of its cold chain, as well as selecting the best air routes that allow the arrival at destination in the shortest possible time.
